We’re Giving You up to $10,000 in Free Safety Equipment
*Additional class codes were added to the eligibility list Nov. 1, 2024. The full list of eligible industries is listed below.
If you're a policyholder with reported payroll and work in the following industries: carpentry, roofing, sheet metal, tree work, millwright, plumbing, wallboard installation, electrical, painting, scaffold, iron or steel works, and steel erection, you may be eligible for a State Fund Safety Equipment Grant to help you purchase needed safety equipment.
Our Board of Directors has allocated up to $25 million in grant funds to be distributed to qualifying policyholders working in at-risk industries.
A Focus on Falls
Falls from heights are the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry—17% of those falls happen from just 6 – 10 feet. Having the right equipment to prevent falls is crucial, and we want to ensure you have what you need to keep your workers safe. The program offers individual policyholders up to $10,000 in free fall prevention equipment.
What’s the Catch?
There is no catch. Our not-for-profit status and customer-first focus means we have a clear mission to help you keep your employees working safely—and you can’t do that if you don’t have the equipment you need. That’s why any qualifying policyholders who meet the eligibility requirements may receive the grant – and it’s completely free. There’s nothing to repay, and you will own the equipment outright.
Who is Eligible?
Policyholders with reported payroll in these governing class codes—Carpentry (5403, 5432), Roofing (5552, 5553), Sheet Metal (5538, 5542), Tree Worker (0106), Millwright (3724), Plumbing (5183, 5187), Wallboard Installation (5446, 5447), Electrical (3724, 5140, 5190), Painting (5474, 5482), Scaffold (9529), Iron and Steel Works (3030), and Steel Erection (5040)—will receive an email invitation to apply for a grant 16 days after their policy renews or incepts.
Your account must be in good standing, and you must have reported payroll with at least one employee who works at heights. You also need to upload your Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). If you don’t have one yet, it’s easy to create one using State Fund’s IIPP BuilderSM.
What Equipment is Available?
