Carla Anene provides leadership and direction to Corporate Claims and the Claims Processing Center as Executive Vice President of Corporate Claims. She also provides guidance to Claims Legal.
Carla began her workers’ compensation career in 1990 as a claims adjuster in State Fund’s San Francisco office. She also worked as an adjuster in the private sector. Following her law school graduation, she was employed as a workers compensation defense attorney and gained experience working for multiple law firms and as in-house counsel. She returned to State Fund in 2001 as Staff Counsel for the San Francisco Legal office, and then went on to hold many positions, including Staff Counsel III, Assistant Chief Counsel of San Francisco Legal, Deputy Chief Counsel, and Chief Counsel Technical. She was appointed Claims Legal Chief Counsel and joined State Fund’s Executive Committee in 2021.
Carla is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the University of California Law, San Francisco (formerly Hastings College of the Law).
