State Fund Offers Free Ergonomics Workshop

STOCKTON – A free ergonomics workshop presented by State Compensation Insurance Fund will be held in Stockton on January 29.

The workshop is part of State Fund’s Employer Education Series offered throughout the state on a variety of topics to help employers create safe workplaces

Information presented at this workshop will help employers identify risk factors and reduce workplace injuries associated with repetitive motion injury.

Helen Chandler and Kristy Schultz, certified industrial ergonomists and State Fund ergonomics consultants, will lead the workshop.

The workshop will consist of two parts. The first, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., will cover general principles of ergonomics including understanding the basic principles, identifying risk factors, discovering simple solutions and developing programs for individual companies.

The second half, which begins at 11 a.m., will focus on reducing office risk factors, implementing effective changes, increasing employee satisfaction and productivity, and examining the pros and cons of office ergonomic equipment.

The workshop begins at 9 a.m. with participant sign-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. at State Fund’s Stockton Regional Office, 3247 W. March Lane.

Parking is free.
