State Fund employees enjoy a number of benefits and are eligible for a variety of leave programs. Generous medical benefits provide employees with substantial coverage for health, dental, and vision care at minimal cost. Leave programs allow employees to take time from work for their own illness or injury, or that of eligible family members. These benefits/programs are designed in part to give employees an opportunity to balance both work and family responsibilities.
Health benefits and leave programs are available for most permanent, full-time employees as well as some permanent, part-time employees. Benefit eligibility for both full- and part-time employees may depend on length of service and may be subject to collective bargaining agreements. Collective bargaining agreements are the contracts negotiated between the State of California and employee organizations. These agreements define employees' wages, hours, and conditions of employment.
