Beatriz Sanchez serves as Executive Vice President for Claims, and was appointed an Executive Committee member in December 2010.
She joined State Fund in 1987 as a claims adjuster in the Los Angeles District Office, where her case-management skills and excellent finalization work earned her “lead adjuster” designation, followed by a promotion to Senior Claims Representative.
In 1992, Sanchez was promoted to Assistant Claims Manager for the Los Angeles District Office. In this role, she excelled as a trainer, developed procedures for streamlining workflow, and was instrumental in building a unit of highly effective vocational rehabilitation counselors.
Sanchez transferred to the San Bernardino District Office as Assistant Claims Manager, where she continued to hone her supervisory and management skills. She produced innovative employer seminars that set record-breaking attendance, and was instrumental in coordinating the relocation and transition of three offices as part of the Los Angeles Basin realignment project. In addition, she served on a number of important corporate projects, including as team leader for the implementation of AB 749.
In 2002, she was promoted to Claims Manager for the Los Angeles District Office Glendale location, responsible for one of State Fund’s largest claims operations. She followed this achievement with an assignment as Glendale Claims Services Operations Manager in 2006, and the following year, she took the helm of Glendale Claims Services as its Program Manager.
In 2008, she was appointed as Senior Vice President of Southern Claims Operations, in charge of regional operations in Los Angeles/Tri-County, Inland Empire/San Diego, and Orange County.
Sanchez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from the University of La Verne.The Executive Vice President for Claims works jointly with the Executive Vice President of Corporate Claims Operations in establishing a unified vision, goals, and strategies for State Fund Claims. This executive also works with Regional Vice Presidents to ensure that all Claims operations are meeting performance and strategic goals and in compliance with audit, regulatory, and legislative requirements.
