Robin Baker was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. to State Fund’s Board of Directors in 2013.
Baker has been director of research to practice at the University of California, Berkeley Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) and at the Center for Construction Research and Training (CPWR) since 2010. Her interests include promotion of evidence-based best practices in health and safety, particularly in the construction industry, immigrant workers, young workers, and participatory interventions to address occupational health disparities.
Baker was director at UC-Berkeley’s Labor Occupational Health Program (LOHP) from 1981 to 2010, and director at the Project on Health and Safety in Electronics, Santa Clara Center for Occupational Safety and Health from 1978 to 1981.
She is also a member of the American Federation of Teachers and the American Public Health Association.Baker earned a Master of Public Health degree from UC-Berkeley.
